My wife Bircan and I Ertuğrul discovered this magnificent region ten years ago. One day we were wandering in Izmir and found ourselves in this magnificent nature; TORRHEBIA. Torrhebia is the name of this region where Gölcük Lake is located today.This region stands here since the Lydian time. So keep your attention, you can probably find one of the first ancient coins :) By the way İzmir is a city full of incredible beauty wherever you go in İzmir. But Gölcük plateau is not a well-known place, those who meets Gölcük are lucky.
We are a small family company. My wife, my daughter, me and our dog Piano :) . We wish our guests have a happy time and relax here. We wish who will come here surprised, forget their tiring days before they came here. We hope our guests will find everything here what they expect when they come.
We don't have many rooms. This allows us to take better care of our guests. It is also a very suitable place to spend an isolated holiday during this pandemic period. You can get breakfast from us or you can prepare it yourself in our Squirrel House's own kitchen.
In Torrhebia Mountain House, you can have water, tea, coffee, filter coffee, herbal tea, lemonade, ayran and boza as a drink. We have no alcoholic beverages.
When you come to Torrhebia Mountain House, you can sit in our garden and spend hours in front of a wonderful view. You can also relax in silence, feel the nature and smell the forest moreover you can walk in the forrest or reveal the explorer spirits of your kids. You can not only ride a bicycle, but also walk around the lake. We have a large garden. You can play games in our garden.You can feel yourself in the silence and hear the nature. you can start yoga, write books, read poetry, set a tent, do garden orienteering, help gardening, pick cherries and pick food for breakfast from the field, sleep by the stove and sledding are some of the intresting activities you can do here. Experiencing the snow, rain, fog, hail, sun and storm on the same day make you feel excited here. In summer, you can pick tomatoes from our field and make tomato paste, feed our chickens, buy pure milk from the neighbor and make yogurt, if you are lucky, you may even buy eggs. You may eat free range hen if you inform us in advance, I am not sure whether you can taste the honey of Gölcük Forests or not. But i am sure you can experience all of these and more at Torrhebia House. What you will experience in Torrhebia House depens on the season you come here.
If these are not enough, you can go to Bozdağ, visit the Lübbey-ghost village through Subatan plateau, visit the historical and registered village of Birgi, the capital of Aydınoğulları, and visit the ancient city of Sart. On the way back to Izmir, you can buy saplings for your garden and colorful flowers for your balcony. You can shop the chesnut that grown in these montains, the Çekiçge olives that has a different flovered, the fig that called champion in Birgi, the yellow potatoes that called Ödemiş Potatoes, Silk Weaving products that sand mecca in the past.
